Jonathan Drummond
Executive Director-Pastor
Jonathan Drummond serves as the executive director for Grace Outtabounds. He and many others believe that all human are beloved children of God and were made to be in community with one another as we journey through life. He has immersed his life in the practice of medicine (read “science-based thinking”) and the pursuit of the meaning of life (read “metaphysical-abstract thinking”).
Growing up as a person of faith where the dominant religion in America was Christianity mixed with patriotism, it was often difficult to distinguish where the line between church and state actually resided. As we have entered the 21st century, the polarization of people and their beliefs is doing great harm to others – often in the name of religion.
From his understanding of his own faith tradition and world view, Jonathan believes in the sacred worth of all people - which happens to include people who are radically different from himself (a fact that many members of his faith tradition seem to ignore).
It stands to reason that in light of such divergent views of the world, no one person or group can possibly have the monopoly on the meaning of life. Therefore, Grace Outtabounds is designed to support all people, marginalized or otherwise, as we share our understanding of life and love with each other, especially with folks who have been historically excluded from the boundaries set by the institutional church or religion.
